SriLanka, Oct. 4 -- At least five workers died and more than 10 were injured in a massive explosion that occurred at TIL Healthcare facility within the Sri City Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Satyavedu mandal of Tirupati district on Saturday (October 3, 2026) morning around 8 a.m.



Two workers reportedly died on the spot and another three lost their lives while availing treatment at the hospital. Although initial reports and Sri City representatives placed the death toll at four, Tirupati SP L. Subbarayudu confirmed that five people have died.



According to the sources, a boiler exploded at the formulations manufacturing unit. The exact reason for the accident is yet to be known.
