Sri Lanka, April 3 -- SLPP Parliamentarian D.V. Chanaka has alleged that the Energy Minister is making strenuous efforts to prevent the publication of the report related to substandard coal imports.

The MP further claimed that the Minister has been orchestrating plans from the Norochcholai Power Plant for over five days.

''This substandard coal import is a fraud committed by this government. Due to this fraud, electricity in the country is being turned off. With the New Year approaching, people are forced to rely on generators for celebrations. Yet, the fuel for these generators will have to be supplied by the government itself.
