Srilanka, July 16 -- The body of a man suspected to have been murdered has been discovered in a canal at Pitipana, Homagama, in the early hours of today (16), according to the Homagama Police.



Police suspect that the victim was murdered at a nearby land before the body was dumped in the canal.

Investigators had recovered a pair of shoes believed to have belonged to the deceased, along with a Rs. 20 currency note, from the land.



Police further stated that the victim's face had been severely disfigured and has been partially eaten by wild animals, making identification difficult.
