Sri Lanka, April 3 -- The Department of Agrarian Development has announced that Agrarian Service Centers will remain operational on public holidays to facilitate the distribution of fertilizer to farmers in areas where Yala season paddy cultivation has commenced.
In a statement, the Commissioner General of Agrarian Development, Dhammika Ranatunga, noted that the department has taken measures to ensure that centers in the relevant areas remain open throughout all public holidays and weekends.
According to the announcement, the government has decided that fertilizers required for paddy cultivation will be issued exclusively through government Agrarian Service Centers.
