Mumbai, March 19 -- Deputy Chairman of Maharashtra Legislative Council Dr Neelam Gorhe on Tuesday directed Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University to immediately waive off examination fees for college students from drought-prone areas of Marathwada.

In a press statement issued here, she said that the state government has declared drought-prone talukas during a meeting, in which the decision of giving concessions for students from drought-prone areas was taken.

Dr Gorhe said that she herself had reviewed drought situation in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar along with Revenue Department official and directed the Marathwada University to waive off examination fees for college students in drought-affected areas. UNI SP SS
