New Delhi, May 3 -- National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Friday directed the Uttar Pradesh government to pay Rs 7.5 lakh to the kin of a victim who was mauled to death by stray dogs in the Aligarh Muslim University campus in April last year.

The commission said it found negligence of the authorities in the matter, therefore it directed the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh to pay Rs 7.5 lakh to the next of kin of victim Safadr Ali Khan.
