Mumbai, April 24 -- A sessions court here on Wednesday granted anticipatory bail to a city-based advocate and a high-ranking government officer for their alleged involvement in a case related to forged appointment letters.

The case, registered with Colaba police, involved alleged forging of letters appointing the advocate as special public prosecutor (SPP) in cases against famous builder Sanjay Punamiya, who was facing a criminal trial.

While granting bail to advocate Shekhar Jagtap and joint secretary (law and judiciary) Kishor Bhalerao, the court asked them to visit the police station at least for three months until the investigation was over and directed the police to submit their charge sheet.
