Srinagar, April 18 -- Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Thursday predicted widespread rain and light snow over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

The MeT office said the weather will generally remain cloudy with light to moderate rain and light snow over higher reaches at most places, coupled with thunder, from this evening to late Friday.

The weather is very likely to remain generally dry from April 21 to April 25, but afternoon thundershowers activity can't be ruled out as there is a possibility of light rain with thunder at many places during April 26 and 27.

The day and night temperatures improved in the Kashmir Valley and were recorded above normal.
