Goa, Feb. 22 -- Online travel firm MakeMyTrip and the Goa government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote tourism in the beach state, especially in the hinterlands, to ensure sustainable and regenerative tourism practices.

As per the pact, the travel major will highlight the state's inland cultural richness and culinary traditions. It will curate a cultural map of Goa, pushing various initiatives to promote tourism in the state.

"Our partnership with MakeMyTrip will help us introduce tourists to the heart and soul of Goa, ensuring that the economic benefits of tourism are equitably distributed across the state," said Rohan Khaunte, Minister of Tourism, IT, E&C, and Printing and Stationery, Government of Goa.
