Mumbai, April 23 -- Around 59 candidates in Maharashtra withdrew their nominations for the third phase Lok Sabha elections, which are scheduled for May 7 in 11 constituencies.

Now 258 candidates remain in the race, according to the official press statement issued by the state chief electoral officer Monday night.

As per the final list, after the withdrawal of nominations by a total of 59 out of 317 valid candidates and scrutiny, there will now be a total of 258 candidates in fray for the Lok Sabha general election.

The maximum of 38 candidates are in fray in the Baramati Lok Sabha seat, followed by Madha 32 and Osmanabad (Dharashiv) 31. Latur 28, Hatkanangle 27, Kolhapur 23, Solapur 21, Sangali 20, Satara 16, Raigad 13, and Sindhudurg 9....
