Patna, Feb. 17 -- Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) on Saturday said party supremo Lalu Prasad Yav had accepted Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in 2015 and 2017 for his socialist background.

Bihar RJD president Jagdanand Singh told media persons here that party supremo Lalu Prasad always responded to proposal of Chief Minister Kumar for working together due to his socialist background.

All JD(U) candidates were set to lose Rajya Sabha elections in 2015 and entire party was prepared to merge with BJP in the event of defeat, but responding to request of Kumar, Lalu not only saved him but also his party, he recalled.

Singh said that same was the situation for Nitish in 2022 and Lalu saved him again by giving green signal to join Grand Alliance....
