Mumbai, Feb. 9 -- Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Nana Patole on Friday criticised the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, demanding dismissal of the incumbenet govenrment and imposition of president's rule.

Addressing a press conference at state Congress headquarters Tilak Bhavan here, Patole said a former corporator was shot dead in Mumbai after incidents of firing occurred in Kalyan, Jalgaon, Yavatmal, and Jalgaon.

The increasing frequency of such incidents in the state is causing concern for Maharashtra, he said.
