IMPHAL, March 22 -- Congress party will field both the seats of Manipur, who will be supported by the INDIA Bloc. Congress President K Meghachandra on Friday announced during a press conference at Congress Bhawan that Professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, a professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, will contest from the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency while Alfred Kangam Arthur, former Congress MLA, will contest from the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency.
The BJP has not yet announced the name of its candidate for Inner Manipur. Chief Minister N Biren said on a social networking site that the BJP will support the NPF candidate in Outer Manipur.
