Kolkata, April 18 -- Thousands of poll personnel on Thursday began to move carrying all necessary gadgets, including the EVMs, to their respective polling stations as West Bengal geared up to have its first of the seven-phase voting in three contiguous districts of Cooch Behar, Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri in the northern part of the state, official sources said.

Meanwhile, the Central Armed Forces and state police personnel are already posted in all three Lok Sabha constituencies and began area domination to maintain the model code conduct.

Over 4.6 million voters are expected to exercise their voting rights in around 5814 polling booths in which some 30 candidates are seeking their electoral fate in the hustings.
