Itanagar, March 17 -- In the run-up to the forthcoming general elections to the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh, a sum of Rs 59.02 lakh has been seized by a police team during a Naka checking at the Pine Grove area near Ziro in the Lower Subansiri district.

The cash was seized from one Boa Terry, a resident of Boa Simla in Kamle district on Saturday, official sources said on Sunday.

The vehicle carrying the cash was heading from the Lower Subansiri district headquarters Ziro to Kamle district when it was seized.

During the random naka checking at Pine Grove, the gateway to the neighboring districts of Kamle and Upper Subansiri, the police team on suspicion stopped the vehicle, and found the money stashed in a bag...
