Kolhapur / Ratnagiri, May 3 -- Union Home Minister and BJP's star campaigner, Amit Shah, on Friday launched a counterattack on Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray following his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah for calling his party as 'nakali' (fake).

Targeting Sena-UBT chief in an election rally in Ratnagiri for BJP candidate and Union minister Narayan Rane, he retorted that he (Thackeray) had no right to take name of Shiv Sena founder late Bal Thackeray as he was chief of 'nakali' (fake) Shiv Sena and challenged him to take the name of Veer Savarkar in his public meetings.

Citing examples of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Lokmanya Tilak, he said that Veer Savarkar also struggled for independence from here.
