Chandigarh, March 4 -- The Chandigarh Congress has condemned the action of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in supporting the Anti-Farmer Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) during the elections to the posts of Senior Deputy Mayor and Deputy Mayor here on Monday.
In an official statement issued by the party's spokesperson, Rajiv Sharma said that terming the SAD councilors vote in favor of the BJP, which is akin to stabbing the backs of the country's farmers and farm laborers, he stated that the Akali Dal appears to have become a tacit partner of the BJP in their sinister attempt to destroy the farming sector in the country to help the rich corporations.
