Dhaka, May 3 -- Those who want to keep the government under pressure are now remaining under pressure as the Arab spring has also gone beyond the Atlantic, said Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said this while addressing a press briefing at the Awami League President Sheikh Hasina's political office in the capital's Dhanmondi on Friday.

"We feel pressure while governing the country. Even before the election, there was pressure and threats. They have publicly said that they will impose sanctions. Now those who will stress for normal reasons are stressed enough themselves. The Arab Spring has also touched the other side of the Atlantic and we can see it from afar."
