Dubai, Jan. 31 -- More than 21 million travelers experienced expedited passport control procedures within minutes at Dubai airports in 2023, showcasing a remarkable 55pc increase compared to the approximately 13.5 million passengers in 2022.

The announcement was made on Monday (Jan 29) by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai.

The GDRFA revealed that these travelers efficiently navigated through 127 smart gates at both Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International (DWC) without requiring assistance from immigration officials.
