Mr. Josef Pfanner, 76 years old tourist from Germany, went missing at Koslanda area during evening hours on Wednesday (14 February 2024) and the management of Melheim Resort, Haputale requested assistance of the Army in order to rescue their missing German guest who had left the resort for jogging and sightseeing.
Army troops swiftly responded under the necessary instructions of Major General S.R.B. Aluvihare RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Central, to locate the missing tourist and ensure his safety.
