India, Feb. 4 -- Two families, within 48 hours, displayed profound generosity by consenting to multi-organ donations from their brain-dead loved ones. One heart, four kidneys, two livers, and four corners of a 51-year-old man from Bharatpur in Rajasthan and a 40-year-old woman from Haryana were retrieved by a team of specialized doctors at the AIIMA, Delhi.

According to AIIMS officials, 51-year-old Bachu from Rajasthan's Bharatpur died in a rail accident in Palwal following which his family gave consent to donate her organs.

The other donation came from 40-year-old Maya, who was a resident of Haryana.
