Kasaragod, Feb. 17 -- Two workers of the Youth Congress were hacked to death at Kanhangad near here late on Sunday.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Kripesh (21) and Sarath (27). The incident occurred at around 2100 hrs at Kalliyot in Pulloor-Periya village near Kanhangad.
A group of men, alleged to be CPI(M) activists, is said to have blocked the two youth Congress workers, riding on a two-wheeler, at Kalliyot and brutally hacked them.
In protest against the incident, the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) had called for a hartal in Kasaragod district on Monday
