Bhubaneswar, Feb. 11 -- Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched 38 more Aahar Kendras through video conferencing today.

With this Aahar Kendras started functioning in all the 114 Urban Local bodies in the state.

The scheme was launched first on April 1, 2015 in 21 locations in five Municipal Corporation areas of the state to provide cooked food to the needy and poor at Rs 5 per meal.

At present 157 Aahar Kendras are functioning in the state. In addition to it the facility is also available in 56 hospital campuses during the night.

As many 65 vehicles have been deployed for transportation of food and 2,000 people are appointed for the implementation of the scheme.

Nearly one lakh people are being benefitted by the scheme every day...
