LUDHIANA, Feb. 15 -- THE Union government has chosen 62 villages of district Ludhiana under "Vatavaran Anukulit Pashudhan Utpadan Yojana". Under this scheme, a subsidy of Rs 2.25 lakh and Rs 1,12,500 would be provided for setting up of model cattle shed for 10 or 5 desi cows/buffaloes respectively in every village. This information was provided by Deputy Director, Dairy Development Department Dilbagh Singh Hans, during an awareness camp organised for Dairy Department farmers at village Rajgarh, here. Around 135 dairy farmers attended this camp.
Hans informed that under the "Mission Tandrust Punjab", efforts are being made to better the health of animals as well as humans.
