Dhaka, Feb. 16 -- The High Commission of Sri Lanka in Dhaka, Bangladesh celebrated the 71st anniversary of the National Day of Sri Lanka at its premise simultaneously with the main ceremonial celebrations held in Colombo, Sri Lanka on February 4th, 2019. The event was held under the auspices of the High Commissioner H. E. Mr. Crisanthe De Silva in two sessions - morning and evening.
The morning event commenced with the High Commissioner hoisting the national flag. Then, the national anthem was sung in both Sinhala and Tamil languages. A large gathering of Sri Lankans settled in Bangladesh and well-wishers were present at the event.
