INDIA, Feb. 18 -- Pakistan on Monday recalled its ambassador in New Delhi for consultations amid escalating tensions with India, Pakistan's foreign office spokesman said on Monday.
"We have called back our High Commissioner in India for consultations. He left New Delhi this morning," Foreign Office spokesman Mohammad Faisal said on Twitter.
Mohammad Faisal said envoy Sohail Mahmood left New Delhi on Monday morning.
Mahmood was on Friday summoned in New Delhi by Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale who lodged strong protest over the killing of at least 40 CRPF soldiers in Pulwama.
Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria has already been called last week to New Delhi for consultations in the wake of Pulwama terror attack.
