Rabat, Jan. 15 -- Africa, Europe, and North and South America will witness a total lunar eclipse on January 20-21, the last of its kind until 2021.

The moon will appear a red-orange color, a phenomenon known as the Blood Moon. " What a lunar eclipse displays is the color of all of Earth's sunrises and sunsets reaching the moon," NASA scientist Noah Petro told Space.com.

People in Europe and Africa will see the eclipse shortly before sunrise, whereas those in North and South America will be able to see the eclipse by midnight.

The total lunar eclipse will last about an hour, according to NASA.
