Lucknow, July 13 -- The state government has given its nod to the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) to carry out audits of Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) and UP State Industrial Development Corporation.

Both Noida and Greater Noida authorities, which oversee housing projects in the national capital region (NCR) area, had taken the stand during the Samajwadi Party regime that since they were autonomous bodies and did not get funds from the state or the Centre, they did not come under the purview of CAG.

Brushing aside objections, chief minister Yogi Adityanath had set the ball rolling by allowing the CAG to conduct the audit of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) on April 12.
