SHILLONG, Jan. 21 -- Meghalaya today celebrated its 47th Statehood Day with a pledge to make the State energy-efficient through various steps.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, while greeting the people on the occasion, said: 'Let us rededicate ourselves to the values with which our beloved State was formed and reaffirm our commitment to work relentlessly together towards building a peaceful, just and equitable society essential for unhindered development and prosperity of the State.'
