SHILLONG, Jan. 21 -- Meghalaya today celebrated its 47th Statehood Day with a pledge to make the State energy-efficient through various steps.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, while greeting the people on the occasion, said: 'Let us rededicate ourselves to the values with which our beloved State was formed and reaffirm our commitment to work relentlessly together towards building a peaceful, just and equitable society essential for unhindered development and prosperity of the State.'
During the celebration of the day at a function here, Sangma announced a 100-day programme in which energy saving would be an important constituent. The Chief Minister said that in the next 100 days, the entire Secretariat building would be powered by LED light...
