BONGAIGAON, Jan. 21 -- Educational institutions cannot be centres of recreation for the students, rather these institutions should teach the students to develop new thought, renowned educationist and the vice chancellor ofAssam Downtown University Amarjyoti Choudhury said while speaking on the topic, 'Present education of Assam: a challenge' at a lecture session organised in connection with the concluding silver jubilee function of Birjhora Kanya College here on Sunday.
Dr Choudhury recalled some of his school teachers who had contributed to his intellectual development by their unique method of teaching subjects while he was explaining about the sacrifices which the ideal teachers have to make for shaping the future of the students.
