Bharti Airtel to finalise Telenor acquisition by end-Feb in fight against Rel Jio

New Delhi, Jan. 19 -- As competition from Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio increases, Bharti Airtel, the largest telecom company in India, enters final stages of discussion with Norwegian telecom operator Telenor to acquire its local unit, sources confirmed HT.

After Airtel, Idea Cellular challenges TRAI in telecom tribunal

New Delhi, Jan. 18 -- Idea Cellular, the telecom company run by the multi-billion dollar conglomerate Aditya Birla Group, has moved telecom tribunal, TDSAT, against the telecom regulatory authority of India (TRAI).

The move comes after Sunil Mittal-promoted Bharti Airtel moved against the telecom regulator in December over issues against Reliance Jio, Mukesh Ambani's telecom startup, offering free services.
