Sri Lanka, May 3 -- In a significant move aimed at fostering a more transparent and impartial sports environment in Sri Lanka, Sports Minister Harin Fernando has enacted a new regulation today (03 May). This regulation marks a pivotal step towards depoliticizing the realm of sports within the country.

Under this newly introduced regulation, the Director General of Sports is vested with the authority to intervene in matters concerning 73 National Sports Associations as deemed necessary, as per statements released by the Ministry of Sports.
