Sri Lanka, May 9 -- President Ranil Wickremesinghe arrived in Parliament this morning (09) shortly after the commencement of the parliamentary session.

The Parliament convened today (09) at 09:30 in the morning under the chairmanship of the Speaker.

During the session, the Speaker announced to the Parliament the vacancy resulting from the abolition of the position of State Minister Diana Gamage.

Subsequently, President Ranil Wickramasinghe delivered a special statement before the Parliament.
