Sri Lanka, May 2 -- Shashi Welgama, the Chairman of the National Transport Commission (NTC), announced today that there will be no revision of bus fares despite the recent reduction in fuel prices.

The NTC had been anticipated to make a decision regarding the revision of bus fares on the same day. However, in light of the reduction in fuel prices, Welgama clarified that bus fares would remain unchanged.

Fuel prices saw a reduction effective from midnight on April 30, with diesel prices decreasing by Rs. 30 per litre. This decrease prompted discussions regarding potential adjustments to bus fares to reflect the cost savings resulting from the fuel price reduction.
