Akola, July 16 -- : Three corporators of the Akola Municipal Corporation have been disqualified after the Caste Scrutiny Committee declared their caste validity certificates invalid, dealing a setback to the Congress, AIMIM and the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar).
The disqualified corporators are Amreen Sadaf Syed Nazim of the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar), elected from Ward No. 16-B, Seema Anjum Shaikh Anis of AIMIM from Ward No. 2-A and Shaikh Abdullah Shaikh Salim of the Congress from Ward No. 1-A.
All three had been elected from reserved wards.
Municipal Commissioner Dr Sunil Lahane issued the disqualification order following the Caste Scrutiny Committee's decision declaring their caste validity certificates invalid.
