Shimla, July 18 -- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast an active monsoon spell over Himachal Pradesh from the midnight of July 18 to July 23, with isolated extremely heavy rainfall likely over the state's mid-hill and adjoining low-hill regions on July 20 and 21.
According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, light to moderate rainfall is expected at many places in the mid-hills and adjoining low hills and plains, while some parts of the higher hills are also likely to receive rain during the six-day period. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast over parts of the mid-hills and adjoining low hills from July 18 to 23, with peak activity expected between July 20 and 22.
