Chennai, July 16 -- The Tamil Nadu government has transferred the Palani temple land irregularity case to the Crime Branch-CID wing of the State police for a detailed probe.
Hours after the Madurai Bench of the High Court declared as "null and void", the controversial sale of the temple land to privatepersons, Tamil Nadu Director General of Police Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal issued orders transferring the probe to the CB-CID.
The case pertained to the registration of a 1.35 acres of land worth Rs 100 crore belonging to the Palani Mutt in Dindigul district to private individuals at a much lesser rate.
