GUWAHATI, Jan. 21 -- The All Tai Ahom Students' Union Kamrup (M) District Committee, Guwahati, and the Banseng Nangseng Women's Society, Bokajan, today met Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi at Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum on various issues, including erection of statues of Lachit Barphukan and Chaolung Siu-Ka-Pha, a press release stated.

The Tai Ahom students' body was led by its president Chao Basant Gogoi, while the Banseng Nangseng Women's Society was led by its president Nang Jakham Shan.

The delegation presented framed photographs of Swargadeo Chaolung Siu-Ka-Pha, the founder of the Ahom kingdom in Assam, to the Governor to display in Raj Bhavan.
