ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,589,162, issued on March 31, was assigned to Tambo Inc. (San Francisco).

"Trans-cyclooctene prodrug of monomethyl auristatin E" was invented by Jose Manuel Mejia Oneto (San Francisco), Nathan A. Yee (San Francisco) and Jesse M. McFarland (San Francisco).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "6-(Carbonyloxy)-1-methylcyclooct-4-ene-1-carbonyl)-aspartic acid conjugate of monomethyl auristatin E may be used for bioorthogonal delivery to a targeted location in a subject in the treatment of cancer and tumor growths."
