Amravati, May 8 -- : Two officials attached to the education department in Maharashtra's Amravati district were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 in connection with admission under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, officials said on Friday.
The accused have been identified as Narendra Gopalkrishna Dhanskar (54), acting centre head with Bhatkuli Panchayat Samiti and Harshvardhan Vasudeorao Ingle (42), a subject resource person posted with the same Panchayat Samiti.
According to the ACB, the complainant had applied online on February 19 seeking admission for his daughter to Class 1 under the RTE quota.
