Feni, May 24 -- Flames suddenly erupted from a newly installed tube well while water was being pumped out at a house in Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni, creating panic among locals.

The incident took place on Saturday evening at Patowari Bari in Korbanpur village under Sundarpur union of the upazila.

According to locals and eyewitnesses, businessman Md Hasan installed a new 110-foot-deep tube well beside his house on Saturday for household use.

After the installation work was completed, workers attempted to pump out water from the tube well in the evening when flames suddenly burst out along with the water.

Witnesses said the fire continued for nearly two to two-and-a-half hours ...
