, May 24 -- A Bhola court on Sunday sentenced three people to death and two others to life imprisonment for killing a housewife in 2022.

Bhola Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Shawkat Hossain handed down the verdict.

The condemned convicts are Abdul Malek Pandit, Mohammad Ibrahim and Abdul Mannan. The court also fined them Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer six months' imprisonment.

The lifers are Mohammad Selim and Mohammad Rafique. They were also fined Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer six more months in jail.

The court also sentenced three others - Mohammad Jashim, Mohammad Firoz and Mohammad Shohag - to three years' imprisonment each, while Mohammad Kabir was sentenced to five years in jail and Mohammad Alam Bachhu...
