India on alert as Ebola outbreak triggers global concern
India, May 24 -- India increases airport and seaport surveillance amid rising international concern over Ebola outbreak in Africa.
India has stepped up surveillance and placed airports and select seaports, particularly in Kerala, on high alert following growing international concern over the Ebola outbreak in parts of Africa and the World Health Organization's declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.
The impact of the outbreak is now being felt across nearly 30 countries, including the United States, the Philippines, Thailand and Bahrain, many of which have either imposed restrictions on travellers arriving from affected regions or tightened health screening and monitoring procedures as a precautionary measure....
