Hanoi, May 24 -- The event was co-chaired by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang and Aide to the President, Chairman of the Russia Federal Maritime Council Nikolai Platonovich Patrushev.

Phan reiterated that Viet Nam highly values Russia's status as a major maritime power, while emphasizing that Viet Nam's Ministry of National Defense wishes to further promote cooperation with the Maritime Board of Russia towards a more substantive and effective manner.
