Srinagar, May 24 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted two separate inquiry commissions into the demolition of structures at Sidra and other places, Minister Javed Ahmed Rana said on Sunday, adding that both probes have been asked to submit their reports within a week.

"The first reaction of the government was to see if the Forest Rights Act has been violated. If it has been violated, then why and by whom? Not one but two inquiry commissions have been put up," Rana told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).

The Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs said the Tribal Department and the Forest Department will conduct the inquiries simultaneously.
