New Delhi, April 2 -- The Delhi Traffic Police has intensified enforcement against the use of fake and forged No-Entry Permits (NEPs) by commercial vehicles, registering FIRs in two cases, an official said on Wednesday. "Alert traffic personnel intercepted vehicles operating with fake permissions allegedly obtained through unauthorised agents," Additional Commissioner of Police (traffic) Vijayanta Goyal Arya said. Two cases of forged NEPs were detected over a fortnight in the Eastern and Central traffic ranges. Authorities have seized the vehicles involved and launched investigations to identify networks engaged in preparation and distribution of counterfeit permits and stickers, Arya said. The traffic police clarified that NEPs are issued for vehicles carrying essential and perishable commodities such as milk, fruits, vegetables, as well as those engaged in fuel distribution and public utility services, Arya said.
