Jakarta, June 7 -- Indonesia's Environment Minister Mohammad Jumhur Hidayat called on all sectors of society to undergo an "ecological conversion" as part of efforts to address the ongoing environmental crisis.

"This is a crucial moment for all of us to practice ecological conversion, namely by reflecting, acknowledging our mistakes, and taking action to repair our relationship with nature," he said in a statement on Sunday.

Speaking during the 2026 World Environment Day commemoration in Jakarta on Saturday, Jumhur said ecological conversion not only encourages environmental protection but also fosters a culture of care and responsibility that can be passed on to future generations.
