India, March 22 -- Following a period of heightened trade tensions, India and the United States have reached an agreement concerning import restrictions placed on laptops, computers, and tablets. This development culminates from the recently concluded 14th Ministerial-level meeting of the India-US Trade Policy Forum (TPF) held in New Delhi.

In October 2023, India implemented a new "import management system" requiring prior authorization for imports of these electronic goods.
