Tashkent, April 18 -- Uzbekistan plans to stop regulating the prices of coal. This decision is outlined in a government resolution of Uzbekistan. The country intends to abandon state control over coal prices, a change that is linked to a recent resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers regarding increases in electricity and gas tariffs.

At present, coal is categorized as a socially important commodity, with its price regulated by the state when sold directly to individuals, government institutions, and thermal power plants.
