ILLINOIS COURTS ISSUES OPINIONS ON TIMOTHY N. SCHILLER V/S HOMESERVICES OF ILLINOIS CASE

SPRINGFIELD, Ill., May 7 -- The Illinois Courts Office issued the following opinion on April 9:

1. In this consolidated appeal, plaintiffs, Timothy and Amy Schiller, appeal the Du Page County circuit court's ruling that their claim against defendant, HomeServices of Illinois, LLC, doing business as Koenig & Strey Real Living (K&S), under the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act (Wage Act) (820 ILCS 115/1 et seq. (West 2016)) was not applicable to their circumstances. K&S also appeal, arguing that the court erred in denying its motion for summary judgment and two motions in limine; that the jury's verdict was against the manifest weight of the evidence, and the court erred in denying its motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict; ...
